Just jumping on here quickly with a Clomid question.

AF started Sunday afternoon, but by Monday afternoon I had the Clomid prescription in my hand and am feeling hopeful. This is my first time on Clomid, but I’ve read about people’s experiences on it and did my research. I’m on 100mg/day.

My question: has anyone experienced all day nausea from it? I took it this morning with a big bowl of yogurt and I’ve felt like I’m on the verge of throwing up all day. Is this normal? I was hoping it would pass but here we are 5 hours later and it hasn’t. Just curious.

    • Ugh, I wish I had thought of that. I take my prenatal before bed for that same reason. But now that I’ve taken it, I feel like I can’t change it, since you’re supposed to take it at the same time each day. Oh well. Sipping lots of ginger ale and eating lots of bread products this week.

  1. I didn’t have any adverse side effects from it, but I remember reading a lot of blogs where women said they did. I can’t remember off the top of my head what they were, but I remember being so nervous to take it because so many women were miserable on it for various reasons. I hope your body adjusts to it quickly and you’re feeling better soon!

  2. One thing I’ve learned about Clomid is that it’s a real wild card. I’ve used it 4 cycles now (total), and my wife also used it 4 cycles. I can tell you that no two were alike. Some I was extremely constipated, others I had serious hot flashes all the time. My wife had no side effects at least 1-2 cycles, and headaches, moodiness, etc. on other cycles. It would not surprise me if you get an upset stomach. Also, you can shift when you take it, if you want. I just can’t remember if you’re supposed to take one pill early or late to get on the schedule you want. Your doctor might be able to tell you.

  3. I used clomid a VERY long time ago. MUCH bigger dose back then. No side effect like you describe and I took it over a 9 month period. I did have a baby who is/was wonderful and is now a spectacular adult. Fingers crossed you get a baby too. If this month doesn’t work, for the next month try the nighttime routine suggested above after talking to your medical person. VERY BEST WISHES!!!!!!!
